SANJAY SETH
- Sanjay has over 30 years of business experience, of which 27 years have been in electronics and Info¬rma¬tion Technology (IT) industry having held a variety of leadership roles in the areas of manufacturing & operations with P&L responsibility; sales & marketing management; strategy development and managing business verticals.
- A B. Tech from IIT-Delhi and PGDBM from IIM-Ahmedabad, he was an entrepreneur for over 16 years; he set up and ran a group of small/medium sized companies. He pioneered retail automation in India having developed number of POS and back-end software products, which were sold in number of countries.
Sanjay lead teams in the areas of Sales & Marketing; Partner management and New Business development in one of the leading System Integrators (SI) in India. He was part of the leadership team to develop and implement a turn-around strategy for the SI business and also lead and won bids for large and complex IT projects, which included managing multiple partnerships across various geographies.
-As a Country Head in Japan he has proven international business development experience.
-Sanjay has headed and directly managed large sales teams for Transportation and Government verticals in TCS - the market leader in these sectors in India. He is a recognised thought leader in e-Governance area both at Central Government and State Government levels having lead a variety of task-forces/committees; published articles and served as advisor to State Governments on IT policies. Sanjay has also served as head of TCS’ System Integration business winning some of the largest SI projects in India.

Almost 30 years of experience as an IT professional of which 21 years has been as a Head of IT/CIO in multi-location & multi product environments at the Corporate level.
- Worked as CIO of organizations in FMCG sector like Reckitt Benckiser and Pepsico, BPO sector like Convergys and as Vice-President (IT services) of ITC Infotech responsible for delivery of IT Services to businesses in sectors as varied as Hospitality (Hotels and Travel), FMCG (Cigarettes and Food), Paper Manufacture and Printing, Retail and Commodity Trading..
- Apart from responsibilities as a CIO, have been intimately involved for the last 10 years as part of Senior Management in formulating business strategies and growth plans . Have been member of Management Committees for the last 12 years and reported to CEOs.
- In Reckitt Benckiser, was involved in setting up systems and processes right from scratch till they graduated to a set of reengineered processes enabled through ERP, CRM and Business Intelligence with factories and selling units connected through state-of-the-art Networks.
- Special mention can be made of an integrated Production-cum-Distribution system using Distributor Stocks and Forecasts as the starting point, integrated end-to-end with Procurement, Production and Distributor Planning . A revenue increase of 3 % (around 20 crores) was attributed to this reengineered Process which enabled right stocks at the right place and time.
- In Pepsi, too, I had redefined the entire IT strategy and implemented SAP at all Business Units including Soft Drinks and Snacks. Among other achievements, attained connectivity of all key distributors to the Central Database through the Web which enabled visibility of stocks across the entire Supply-Chain.
- Have worked with consultants and service-providers like Price Waterhouse, IBM, KPMG, Wipro, SAP in diverse areas like implementation of ERP, outsourcing of IT, formulating IT strategies etc.
Since Jan 2008, working as CIO of DLF Group
- Executed IT Plan encompassing ERP implementation (RAMCO), CRM, Business Intelligence, Project Budgeting and Planning using COGNOS and Prima Vera, Advanced Workflow processes for Vendor Bill Approvals and Processing and Monitoring of Compliances, and Integrated Security Solutions for all businesses of DLF Group.
- Also implemented SAP in the Retail Space encompassing capture of Actual Sales at Retail Units using a POS Solution Triversity and consolidated Sales and Financial Accounting. DLF has already set up 35 outlets for various Brands.
- Reengineered complex Business Processes using IT Solutions. Extensively used BPM (Business Process Management) as a tool for the same.
- The above has resulted in not only efficient processes but also reduction of Manpower by around 1000 people.
- A GIS (Geographical Information System) package was implemented with statutory and demographic information on plots superimposed on satellite images for monitoring sizeable Land Banks owned by DLF.
- Experience in Data Analytics. Implemented Hyperion under my leadership at Reckitt and Pepsi for financial consolidation of Monthly Accounts. Have implemented Cognos TM1 (for Planning & Budgeting ) at DLF and Reckitt ‘s.

Over forty years of extensive research experience in Atmospheric modeling and
Air Quality
As Research Manager of the Air Quality Modelling & Integration Section of
Environment Canada, Dr. Venkatesh directed the R&D on numerical models for
real-time forecasting and to support policy decision making in areas related to
smog, acid rain and hazardous air pollutants including persistent toxic substances
such as Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and heavy metals. He was
responsible for an annual budget of approximately $1.7 M.
As a Research Scientist with Environment Canada between 1975 and 1995, Dr.
Venkatesh's expertise was in the development of models for phenomena at the
air/water/ice interface. These included behaviour of oil spills including in iceinfested
waters, iceberg drift and deterioration, sea ice drift and storm surges.
He also has expertise in the development of models for describing winds in areas
of complex terrain and also near land/water boundaries where land/sea breezes
can exist and can have an important influence on the near-shore movement of oil
spills.Worked for various Canadian Research organizations and government
departments in modelling and forecasting air quality
Passionate, highly rated teacher involved in providing formal classroom
